By “check out”, I mean spend some time. Or at least plan on spending some time, if you want to begin to understand who he is and what he’s about. YouTube is a good place to look, but don’t watch just one or you might think he’s a nutcase (although he’d probably enjoy that). He’s brilliant and combining art, music, drama, and anythingelsethatstrikeshisfancy to create a life giving space for people to connect with each other and the Sacred. Here’s a quote that applied to this blog:
“The argument is made that naming God is never really naming God, but only naming our understanding of God. To take our ideas of the divine and hold them as if they correspond to the reality of God is thus to construct a conceptual idol built from the materials of our mind.”

It seems like having a “personal relationship” to whatever God is is not within our grasp without thinking of ourselves as something other than what we can fully perceive or understand in concrete way because God is beyond our ability to fully perceive or understand in concrete way. It’s a mystery.
Yes, it can be confusing, I think, because we tend to want to make things so concrete. I liked his statement (in another place) about not being able to see light, but light is that by which everything is seen.
